A wonderful vintage brass stirrup. This was strictly a ceremonial stirrup for Spanish riders: Peruvian, South American Conquistador style. A leather strap would loop onto the bar on top, which could easily be replaced with a lighter-weight stirrup for serious riding. This one features a heavily bearded man's face on each side. These would have been too heavy to use as a standard stirrup—8 1/4" long X 4" wide. The toe of the boot would fit into it. Only one. Great for display or a bookend, or a perfect doorstop.
