Antique John Chatillon's tabletop spring weight scale. The brass front plate reads 48 lbs. Original paint but shows some wear. It still is reasonably accurate. I compared the weight of an item using this scale and my digital scale. There is a lead insert on the bottom right side of the base. It reads J.C. & Sons. I can not read all the info on it. This is either the company's seal or an official indicator that it was calibrated. I'm not sure. I can not find any detailed information about this scale. Some noticeable wear, but overall very nice. 9" high. 6" across the face.
